Summary

Pitiful Pearl Waters is an eternal optimist in a world of users and takers. She has the unique gift of passing horribly painful kidney stones, which are, in fact, black pearls of immense value. Unfortunately, her freeloading boyfriend quickly spends the money and coerces her to go through the wracking process again and again. When word of her miraculous gift is publicized, even the mother who abandoned her as a child tries to get back in the picture, much to the boyfriend's chagrin. Will Pearl ever break free of the cycle? One can only hope. [Full-Length. Two Acts. 86 pages. Tragicomedy. Unit set with insets.]
